I would be willing to commit to serving on a POA committee., I would like to be contacted as a resource for guidance.Description of Experience
I have more than 38 years of nuclear power plant experience managing nuclear training, nuclear safety culture, organizational effectiveness, and performance improvement programs, as well as developing staffing plans for new build nuclear power plant projects. Currently, I consult with nuclear power plant executive management teams on organizational performance improvement. My recent noteworthy accomplishments include the following:
• Advised International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) member states (Finland, Egypt, Vietnam, Uganda, Malaysia) on commissioning training and staffing for new nuclear power plant projects.
• Coached the Sellafield Ltd senior management team (located in the United Kingdom) on organizational effectiveness improvements including training program enhancements.
• Developed and implemented a nuclear strategic plan for Entergy Nuclear focused on improving nuclear safety culture.
• Managed organizational effectiveness, human performance, and safety culture root cause analysis teams.
• Assessed Washington River Protection Services personnel adherence to Department of Energy conduct of operations guidelines.
• Worked with Toshiba Nuclear to develop a training program for a planned new build Advanced Boiling Water Reactor in the USA.
Prior to becoming a consultant, I was Director of Organizational Effectiveness for the Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant (Granbury, TX). I also worked at the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (Atlanta, GA) for ten years as an accreditation team manager and accreditation evaluator, and in various supervisor and technician roles at the St. Lucie (Port St. Lucie, FL) and Waterford 3 (New Orleans, LA) nuclear power plants.
Past Projects
In 2007, I led the effort to transfer the Greystone at Vinings Condominium HOA from the developer to homeowners, and then served as HOA president for several years. This was an especially challenging experience due to the developer’s financial difficulties, and housing market collapse.
Early in my nuclear career, I was a Health Physicist responsible maintaining nuclear plant water chemistry within standards, collecting and analyzing environmental samples, and protecting workers from radiation.
